The skip is cast out of a light metal alloy, complete with reinforcing ribs which give it rigidity for tipping rearwards and to either side. The floor of the skip is clad in a strong metal sheet, e.g. stainless steel, to increase the life of the skip w.r.t. wear. The meatl sheets are located by stubs and can be fitted during the casting so that they are held in place when the light alloy contracts at a differential rate. Alternatively they can be bolted, welded, or rivetted in place and can be replaced when damaged or worn.
|
