The fuel economiser consists of a small fan (1) with four blades (1), (2), (3) and (4). Each blade contains a number of perforations (5), (6), (7) and (8). The fan spindle runs in bearings formed by holes in two u-shaped straps mounted on either side of the fan and attached to a flange provided with holes for mounting in the engine intake between the carburettor and manifold. The U-shaped straps are also provided with perforations. The fan rotates due to the flow of the air fuel mixture and thereby ensured thorough mixing. The sharp edges of the blades and the perforations break up the fuel droplets, and at the same time reduce the resistance to the flow through the fan.
|
