<p>The connecting rods of a windscreen wiper drive are linked to a plastic lever which carries the wiper blade shaft. Both ends of the blade shaft are grooved to form snap on connection with the lever and the wiper blade. The opposite end of the lever has pivots on a parallel axis of the blade shaft. Each pivot has a cylindrical section next to the lever, followed by a rectangular groove which is partially formed by a tapered end section. The end section and the groove are axially slotted so that they are radially compressible when the connecting rods are placed in position. The connecting rods made from flat metal strips have a plastic coated U-bend to prevent damage to the pivots.</p> |
