Antihyperlipoproteinaemic medicaments for oral use - contg. clofibrate and inositol hexa-nicotinate

Antihyperlipoproteinaemic medicaments for oral application contain as active components clofibrate (I) and inositol hexanicotinate (II), pref. in wt. ratio 2:1 - 1:3 (esp. 1:1.5-2.5) and pref. contained in soft gelatin capsules. (I) and (II) have a synergic effect in decreasing both cholesterol and triglyceride levels, and do not cause the side-effects of previous combinations of (I) with nicotinic acid or derivs. The combination has good compatibility and is active for a long period due to its slow metabolism. The medicaments can be used to treat hyperlipidoemix of any origins and resultant diseases (such as coronary sclerosis, cerebral sclerosis, sclerotic circulatory disorders and diabetic antio- and retinopathy) and also for post-treatment of coronary infarcts.
