Individual link plates are bent into a two-dimensional curved shape or in three-dimensions to form a plate with a part-spherical surface and are arranged in pairs, with their concave faces facing one another, on one or more rectangular bars. Rigid plate without curvature is positioned between the curved or spherical plates whose curvature is selected so that there is an unhindered movement of the individual pairs in the arched zone of the chain belt. The intermediary elements or the link plates arranged on the bar between the rigid plates are made of elastic material.
