<p>Physiologically safe solutions of polyisocyanates with isocyanurate structure are obtd. by reacting such solutions contg. 0.7-4% free diisocyanates with 0.1-10 times the molar amt. of free diisocyanates, of alcohols ROH, where R is 1-18C aliphatic hydrocarbon gp. opt. interrupted by oxygen, 5-10C cycloaliphatic gp. or 7-14C araliphatic gp. The obtd. solutions contain 0.7% free diisocyanate and are particularly useful in preparing 2-part polyurethane varnish with improved pot life.</p>
