On the surface of the glass turned towards the sea water is a lattice structure consisting of copper or another metal with toxic action or a metallic cpd. The mesh aperture(s) of the lattice structure can have any shape. The holder consisting of copper or a copper alloy can be a ring which is pressed and held in place against the glass surface. The lattice structure can be vaporised onto the glass surface and reinforced galvanically. The edges of the structure can be covered or protected by the holder.
