The moustache or beard protective insert, which is preferably made of plastic, metal or porcelain is designed to fit on cups or glasses and is curved inwards towards the centre of th glass to reveal a drinking aperture which is wide enough to allow normal drinking whilst keeping the beard and moustache clear. The protective insert can be screwed onto the glass or can have resilient clamps which fit inside and outside over the rim which may be of variable diameter. The insert can be made integral with the glass.
