Power recovery from IC engine exhaust - is achieved by turbine driven by evaporated cooling fluid

The engine is cooled by trifluortrichlorethane which has a suitable boiling point. An auxiliary cooling fluid container is connected to the engine cooling system above the liquid level so that only vapour can flow into the container. The exhaust from the engine is taken in a heating coil through the the container and then through the engine cooling system so that the heat of the exhaust is used to evaporate the cooling fluid. The vapour is used to drive a steam turbine after which it is condensed and returned by a pump. The turbine is connected to the engine output shaft by a variable speed belt drive so that it can run at constant speed regardless of the changes in engine speed.
