The broadband coaxial-cable carrier-frequency transmission system, has a four-wire coaxial cable, and amplifier and adaptor units enclosed in a housing set into the ground or floor. The amplifier unit is connected by the four-line cable to the adaptor unit. The connector for the adaptor unit consists of four sub-connectors arranged symmetrically into a larger composite connector whose halves interlock by means of a bayonet device. The housing for the amplifier and adaptor units are rectangular. The adaptor has its composite connector at the centre of four separate connectors that lead to a second composite connector. The composite connector of the adaptor divides into four separate connectors that locate onto the amplifier unit.
