Expanded polyurethane m uldings with textile reinforced surfaces - for durable low density building panels

Building panels or slabs are made by lining the walls of a mould cavity with a fibrous mat, felt or cloth and then injecting an expandable polyurethane resin compsn. into the main cavity to generate a homogenous low or medium density foam in the middle of the core but a relatively high density matrix impregnating the fibrous layers at the moulding surface. Method is useful for mfr. of partition panels. Structure is harder the stiffer than unreinforced foam slabs of similar resin content lighter than mouldings filled throughout with hallow (glass) fillers.
