<p>The instrument has a central stem (1) with a mouthpiece at one end, and a flared section (2) at its other end. The central air passage (7) through the stem (1) which is provided along its length with the usual fingering holes, can be closed by an additional key (6). The latter is formed in two separate parts, comprising a lever (8) articulated to the stem (1) and an arm (9) which is articulated to the flared section (2) and with a baffle (10) for the air passage at its free end. The other end of the arm (9) is contacted by the end of the lever (8) the other end of which (15) can be depressed to operate the key (6) by the little finger of the left hand.</p> |
