<p>Ceramic compsns. for the prodn. of ceramic ware or porcelain, contg. starting materials and water, are improved by addition of 0.1-1.0 wt. % (pref. 0.15-0.20 wt. %; w.r.t. the solid components) of a cationically modified starch as a deflocking and plasticising agent; it is added before moulding and dehydrating. The plasticity of the ceramic mass is improved; the components are maintained in finely dispersed state; the green strength of moulded bodies is increased and the inner stresses are reduced; trimming can be performed after a short drying; breakage loss is reduced; bending strength of the products is greatly increased (by 80-100% or even more); the migration of moisture from the inner of the moulded bodies during the fixing is facilitated.</p> |
