A display is connected to the pickup and a stop moved by a motor is connected to the driver through a motion pickup, whose output signal varies the stop speed via the motor so that the distance between the driver and the stop remains constant; then the motor speed is proportional to that of the driver. The movable stop is mounted on a nut driven by the motor through a lead screw which is a part of a worm gear drive; the motion pickup has a mechanical part and an inductive system operated by the worm gear of the above drive.
