摘要 <p>A system for clamping an object conveyed on a platform in an exact reference position. The object will be essentially rectangular in shape, such as integrated circuit chips and will be held in a fixed position for precision mounting of components such as electrode terminals. The object is gripped at corners that are diagonally opposite by a pair of movable arms (26c, 28c). The arms are fitted with contact elements (30c) producing linear interfaces along the lines subtending the angles. The movable arms are pivoted at the remote ends. The centres of the pivots are situated on the line with the points of contact on the object and this line is at right angles to the diagonal joining the two angles.</p>
