The worktop (1) is provided with an aluminium extruded frame (2) which on the sides facing the cut faces (7) of the worktop (1) is provided with an angled arm member (3) which, together with another arm (4) on the side adjoining the sink, forms a channel in which the sealing compound (5) and the angled edge of the sink (6) can be fitted. When inserting the frame in the worktop (1) an adhesive sealing strip (10) is stuck onto the angled arm part (3) of the frame (2) so that part of the strip protrudes, to be subsequently cut off once the frame is fastened. However, the frame can also be provided with a protruding edge (12) which can be folded over the excess sealing strip thereby providing a double seal.
