The telescopic jib, derricked by a hydraulic ram, is mounted on a slewing superstructure and equipped with a head accommodating a fly jib. It (4) and its derricking ram are mounted on a frame tilting on the superstructure (2) under the action of one or more other rams. This allows the initially horizontal jib to be brought into a position where its head (5) is resting on the ground, to enable the fly jib (6) to be easily fitted or removed. The filting frame can comprise two levers pivoting at their forward ends, while the main jib foot pin is between their rear ends, together with the attachment points for the tilting rams. Eyes can be provided in the superstructure and the tilting frame to take bolts locking the latter in the horizontal position.
