1418548 Illuminated signs DAIMLERBENZ AG 5 Oct 1973 [11 October 1972] 46688/73 Heading G5C A display unit for insertion into a cavity in a vehicle instrument panel has a convex screen 2 with slot-shaped cursor guide-ways 4a, 4b, 5a, 5b and symbols 21, 22, 23, 24 associated with them, there being a rear cover 3 of lightconductive material with light guide elements 18a, 18b, 19a, 19b aligned with the cursor guide way 5, and a common light source in socket 20 by which these elements and the symbols are illuminated. Screen 2 has a twin parallel gutterlike section (Fig. 4) the cursor guide-ways being in each trough, and the rear face of the central channel 13 being blackened adjacent the lamp and reflectively surfaced farthest from the lamp to give even lighting. Cover 3 has V- shaped depressions 30, 31 and ribs 32, 33 to further assist illumination. |
