Portable car board container, particularly for bottles, is folded to form a base (1) and sides (2), extension of the sides being folded inwards (3) to form the top. The box is held assembled by glueing flaps (6) at the ends. The top extensions (3) overlap partially (8) to form a reinforcing strip, and have diagonal fold lines, to ensure even distribution of the load round the periphery of the box. Two rectangular flaps are folded inwards to provide a hand hold. the container is suitable for manufacture by machine.
