<p>A two piece plastics handle for files etc., has a hollow handle (2) housing a tapered hollow ferrule (3), which in turn receives and wedges the tool tang (8) in position. This handle is not subject to temperature or humidity changes, and can be adapted to different sizes and types of tang. Both handle and ferrule have truncated conical apertures (4) and the ferrule (3) is a push fit into the handle (2). Preferably the furrule has a collar (3a) abutting the lip of the handle opening (4) after penetration. The apertures are of polygonal section e.g. square. The ferrule section has internally projecting webs to grip the tang and the ferrule is glued into the handle.</p> |
