<p>Motorised cutting machine with rotating grinder (5) on moble arm (2), automatically compensates for grinder wear during repetitive cutting or sectioning operations. Its peripheral grinding velocity and the grinder support arm travel are continuously monitored and adjusted for optimum grinder use. A sensor (26) e.g. pneumatic, can monitor grinder wear, coming into contact with the grinder when at rest. The machine control system causes sensor displacement either in a direction parallel to the grinder support arm displacement, or in a direction passing through the axis of rotation of the grinder. Detection can be via a contact actuated by falling workpiece cut-offs. The grinder is powered by a hydraulic motor mounted on a support arm.</p> |
