Radiation monitoring system with delayed alarm - controls radioactive contamination and allow subsequent decontamination work

When a definite adjustable dose value is reached - in milli-Rontgens per minute with ionisation chambers and in pulses per minute with counters -, an integration network first integrates the total dose. An alarm is set off only when a likewise adjustable integrated dose is reached. There is further integration after the alarm has been set off, so that the total dose can be read off after elimination of the cause and cutting-out of the alarm for the purposes of decontamination work. When the dose value falls below a threshold, the dose integrated in the meantime is cancelled again if it has not reached the threshold (b).
