Disinfector for air shafts of hospital air conditioners comprises a travelling spray head (10) which is mounted at the end of an elongate semi-rigid elastic guide device (16), pref. consisting of a plastics-sheathed helically wound metal tube, and which includes slide means (18) for support on the walls of the shaft. Pressurised liquid disinfectant is suppled to the spray head via an elongate flexible pipe (20) which may be made of plastics and pass through the metal tube over its whole length, which may be integral with the guide means, or which may be connected to the guide means by mutually spaced clamping means.
