1420972 Packaging G ARNAUD 18 Dec 1972 [16 Dec 1971]] 58322/72 Heading B8C [Also in Division B5] An article 4 is packed in a foamed polyurethane resin shell 18 by supporting the article, which is preferably first wrapped in a resin envelope, in a mould 1 by means of threads 3, and moulding the foamed resin around the article. The mould is lined with jute cloth or other porous material to provide on the shell a protective outer covering 2 which may be suitably inscribed, e.g. to describe the contents. The threads 3 become incorporated in the shell and may be used to destroy it, to unpack the article, by tearing (Figs. 4, 5, not shown). As shown in Figs. 10, 11 the packing may be provided with legs 26 and reinforcing members 36, 42, 43 and 44.
