Powdered or granular adhesive mixt., esp. for wallpapers, contains a conventional, water soluble or dispersible, wallpaper adhesive (I), and a waxing hydrophilic material (II). II interrupts the homogeneity of the adhesive film formed by I on drying. This enables the paper to be m ore easily stripped from the wall in large pieces, even when dry. I is prep. methyl-, carboxymethyl-, hydroxyethyl-, or hydroxypropyl-cellulose, starch, a starch ether, dextrin, PVA, and/or PVAc. II is pref. a polyethylene glycol, polypropylene glycol or polybutylene glycol. |
