The frame comprises a number of bearing plates (10) which are held one above the other by a number of support elements (12) which engage in sockets (24, 26) provided on the top and bottom of each bearing plate. These sockets are formed by slots (24, 26) defined in each corner of the top (14) of the bearing plate by the integral peripheral edge (16) together with the two short inner walls (20, 22) of the bearing plate (10). These slots open away from the bearing plate (10) parallel to the edge (16) at right angles to the surface of the plate (10) and its peripheral direction. The size of the slot in the peripheral direction is greater than the surface spacing between the two wall sections (16, and 20, 22).
