Connector for frame made from square tubes - four pads are forced outwards by wedge to grip tube over a stube tube

The connector has concealed joining elements and has high lead capacity. Each face of the connector (1) has a square stub section (3) welded on. In each corner of the stub section is a slot into which is fitted a pressure pad (7). These move radially in the slots and are held in place by a wedge piece (9), its inwardly sloping faces bearing against those on the pads. Through an access hole (5) in the connector face (4), a bolt (10) is screwed into the wedge. As the bolt is tightened the pads are forced outwards to grip the tube (8) placed over it.
