An electro filter unit with deposition electrodes which are constructed with striker devices has the adjacent deposition electrodes completely controlled by the striker devices which determine the time interval between successive knocks applied to the electrodes to remove the dust etc., precipitated on them. Collectors in the shape of funnels are provided below individual or series of electrodes to catch the dust knocked off them by the striker devices. The amount of material collected by the funnels is used as a control input for the striker devices.
