The intermediary chamber has a heater for heating the ink to a temperature above the transition temperature. One side wall of the chamber is connected to a heating plate. A temperature sensor is provided in the ink in the chamber and is coupled to a comparator unit whose output is connected to a control unit for the heating plate. Evaporation centres e.g. vibratory rods are provided is the intermediary chamber. The gas passes out of the chamber through the gas outlet comprising a capillary opening with a light cover liquid on the surface of the ink. The design facilitates a high quality of printing.
