<p>The damper consists of an elongated cylinder with closed end walls, in which a piston is mounted. The bottom wall of the piston divides the cylinder into a high pressure and low pressure chamber which are filled with a hydraulic medium. the piston wall has an opening with non-return valve which connects the two chambers. At the low pressure side of the piston, a cover which forms a pressure regulating chamber, is cylindrical in shape, a spring loaded valve mounted in this chamber covers a valve opening in the piston. Holes in the cover connect the pressure regulating chamber to the low pressure chamber when the valve is open. Holes in the valve connect the high pressure to the pressure regulating chamber.</p> |
