The vertical side of the window frame has a groove for the thrust rod which is moved into an open or closed position by means of a two-armed lever pivoting on an axle mounted in a housing. The housing is incorporated in a cavity running through the vertical frame-side. The lever axle is positioned so that the lever does not protrude beyond the outer housing-edge when in a closed position. The long arm of the lever serves as a handle and ahs a projection on the side facing the base of the housing, for the lever to rest against. The short arm of the lever has an axle on which is pivot-mounted a hook protruding through the housing base and the cavity. The hooked end of the hook fits into a cavity in the thrust rod.
