<p>The parent patent describes an appts. and a method for separating the dust resulting from steel smelting furnaces, in which the heat in the waste gases is used to generate steam to provide the energy needed to drive the gases through a washing plant. The stream generator was situated either before or after the washer. In the present invention, it is essential that the stream generator precedes the washer so that its heat exchanger can be constructed as a cyclonic separator (or alternatively, a still-air chamber) in which the heavier particles would be retained so that only fine dust remained to be dealt with in the washer.</p> |
