The arrangement consists of a heat sensor on each landing, an electric controller transforming the sensor signals into operation signals and a cylindrical spring loaded, electromagnet-controlled actuator. While the window is in closed position a spring is kept compressed under the influence of a disc and, at the same time the window is kept closed by an electromagnet. When the signal from the controller de-energises the magnet, the window springs open due to pressure from a spring exerted onto the disc, and a rod moves out from the cylinder, but is checked in its s movement by another spring. The arrangement avoids the window oscillating before arriving at its open position.
