Multi-layer recording carrier - high intensity heat radiation controlled by signals causes covering layer to become transparent

The heat radiation is controlled by means of signals when used for the recording of information. The recording carrier consists of a heat-conducting substrate layer (1) and a covering layer (3) which becomes transparent under the effect of heat. Between the substrate layer (1) and the covering layer (3) an additional thin material layer (2) is sandwiched featuring a high absorption capacity in comparison with heat. The material layer (2) is coloured in accordance with the required colour of lettering. A known print-sensitive paper is used as recording carrier which consits of a black substrate paper and a covering layer made of plastic micro foam.
