The system is for heating railway installations e.g. direction change points, crossings, platforms, platform crossing, level crossings and the like, to keep them free of snow and ice. Heat is drawn from a source heated by the earth, e.g. ground water or neighboring drains with a minimum temperature of 10[deg]C. One or more vacuum-sealed pipes (9) are heated, filled with CO2, to change between liquid and gas phases, and circulate as a heat flow (9a) without pumps or sensors so that heat is delivered to cold zones (11) in the gas phase through capillary tubes (15) and connecting boxes (10), and then condenses to return as a liquid flow in the pipes. |
