PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency of a rotary machine.SOLUTION: A rotary machine 1 includes: an impeller 5 which is equipped with a disc-shaped disc 7 rotated about an axis O, blades 8 provided on a surface facing one side in an axis O direction of the disc 7 at intervals in a circumferential direction, and defining channels 5F from the one side in the axis O direction toward the outer side in a diametrical direction therebetween, and a cover 9 covering the blades 8 from the outer side in the diametrical direction; a casing 6 which covers the impeller 5 from the outer side in the diametrical direction, and forms a clearance between an outer surface of the cover 9 and the casing 6; a seal portion 10 provided in the clearance; and a cover member S which is provided so as to project out from an opposite surface 61B toward an end surface, in a space communicating to the clearance between the end surface on the one side in the axis O direction of the cover 9 and the opposite surface 61B opposing to the end surface in the axis O direction, and formed from material with higher machinability than that of the cover 9.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
