1425114 Chalk whiting fillers ASSOCIATED PORTLAND CEMENT MANUFACTURERS Ltd 8 March 1974 [9 March 1973] 11555/73 Heading C1A A chalk whiting filler comprises chalk whiting (CaCO 3 ), and 3-10% by weight (based on the whiting) of a mixture of: (1) anionic starch and water soluble alginate, 10À5-15À5% by weight of the mixture being alginate radical, (2) cationic starch and water soluble alginate, 23-35% by weight of the mixture being alginate radical, or (3) anionic starch and watersoluble polyacrylate, 10-15% by weight of the mixture being polyacrylate. The filler may be prepared by pre-mixing the constituents in dry form, or by addition during preparation of a whiting slurry. |
