Mobile communications terminal sends a signalling packet to a mobility manager of the mobile communications system, comprising user data, intended for a destination, prior to establishing a signalling connection with the mobility manager. Mobility manager receives a signalling packet from a communications terminal and comprising user data, intended for a destination, detects that the packet is not associated with any established signalling connection between the mobility manager and this communication device. Mobility managers are responsive to said detection, to transmit the user data comprised in the signalling packet to the destination.EFFECT: technical result is increased network efficiency when transmitting short messages, which may be sent in a reduced context or context-less manner in a mobile communications network.26 cl, 25 dwg |
