Vapour lock seal for shafts - has two fixed rings sealed to housing and rotating ring sealed to shaft

The shaft seal has two sealing chambers between a rotating ring (3) and two rings that are fixed. This provides improves improved sealing even allowing for the different pressures in the sealing chambers. Each of the two fixed rings (1) has a gastight seal against the housing (6) using an elastic wall (2). The rotating ring (3) is sealed against the shaft (7) using spring sleeves (4) on both sides. The space between the shaft (7) and the fixed rings (1) is kept to a minimum.
