The invention relates to a system and method for establishing telecommunications. In the inventive system, call numbers specific to each subscriber, independent of the connection site and unique to the system, are allocated to subscribers. Said system includes a first subsystem (1) comprising first switching systems (LE/Ovst 11, 1t) which are subscriber access equipment, and possibly second switching systems (2x). Said system includes a second subsystem (2) comprising at least one switching device (LSSML3) inside which subscriber identification data are stored (PR1, PR2, à; PIN1, PIN2, à). In order to obtain unlimited call number portability, the second subsystem (2) is directly connected only to first switching devices (LE/Ovst) of the first subsystem (1), which can be structured at will.
