The workpiece holder for a vertical broaching machine used for broaching circular pieces. It gives precise centering of the workpiece (5) relative to its axis of symmetry. This is achieved using at least two centering pieces (31), which act with radially directed force components against the inner borehole surface (16) of the workpiece and are moved by a common drive. The centering pieces interact with guide surfaces (43) on the broaching tool via pressure pieces (37,38) and very rigid short stroke springs (39). The broaching tool is especially designed for the simultaneous machining of roller bearing tracks in rings of homokinetic bearings.
