Removal of plastics films from refuse - by blowing electrostatically charged refuse into cyclone and withdrawing tangentially

Plastics film is sepd. from a mixt. of films, paper and opt. fabrics, (i.e. the light fraction of refuse in particular) by blowing the mixt. with an eccentrically directed air blast into a chamber and moving it spirally round the chamber axis, whilst drawing off the air in the opposite direction out of the chamber. A peripheral layer which has a higher film content is drawn out through an opening in the chamber wall while the remainder of the solid materials are extracted from the end of the chamber. A dry process, it is used for recovery of materials useful for the paper industry.
