4-Hydroxy-2H-naphtho 2,1-e -1,2-thiazine-3-carboxamide 1,1-dioxides of formula (I) and their salts are new: (where R1 is H or Me; Ar is phenyl, 2-pyridyl, 2-pyrazinyl, 2-thiazolyl, 4-methyl-2-thiazolyl, 4,5-dimethyl-2-thiazolyl, 2-benzothiazolyl or 5-methyl-3-isoxazolyl). Cpds. (I) are antiphlogistics and blood platelet aggregation inhibitors; e.g. (I; Ar = 2-thiazolyl, R1 = Me) has an anti-inflammatory ED35 (kaolin oedema, p.o., rat) of 13.5mg/kg. and an acute toxicity (p.o., rat) of 207mg/kg. Specif. claimed is (I) where Ar = 2-thiazolyl and R1 = Me. |
