A telescope comprising a lens module and an eyepiece module, the lens module and eyepiece module have connection interfaces for connecting and separating the modules from each other, the lens module including an optical system for varying an image magnification, wherein the telescope further comprises means for focusing and means for adjusting the image magnification, wherein at least one of the means for focusing and the means for adjusting the image magnification is disposed in a region of one of the connection interfaces, and wherein the means for focusing and the means for adjusting the image magnification are spatially located such that they are capable of being manipulated to adjust the image magnification and focus with the same hand simultaneously.
