The display apparatus includes a communication interface configured to receive a control command for a character input from a control device, a display configured to display characters corresponding to the control command, and a controller configured to control the display to move a cursor in word units when a correction command to correct the displayed characters is received.

1. A display apparatus which is configured to receive a signal from a control device, the display apparatus comprising:
a communication interface configured to receive input signals from the control device; a display configured to display a sentence comprising a plurality of words corresponding to the received input signal; and a controller configured to control the display to move a cursor in word units within the sentence if it is determined that a received input signal is a horizontal moving input signal, and to control the display to replace a word where the cursor is located with input characters if it is determined that the received input signal is a character input signal.
