Each working station, except the sixth one, is provided with a quill acting as the longitudinal slide while a transverse shifter controls the square cycles. The clamping surface of the slides provides location for exchangeable and preset tools, and thus accelerates the preparation for short series of work. The base of the machine supports the spindle box, frame and workpiece guide housing. The radially supported spindle drum has six spindles held by the central guide tube. The front end of the quills is fitted with guide prisms for the cross carrier whose prisms locate the tooling. The quill holder supports the counter-spindle facing the spindle in the sixth position.
