A multi-touch platform 102A comprises a touchscreen 108A configured to display a common workspace 109A for use by multiple users 114 to collaborate on one or more data items in a communication session. The multi-touch platform displays, for each of the users, a user interface 140 in the common workspace, the user interface indicating where each user is positioned at the platform and comprising selectable options for each user to access and work on at least one of the data items. The multi-touch platform detects in the common workplace, one or more touchscreen gestures associated with performing one or more operations on at least one of the data items. The multi-touch platform processes the data items according to the operations and displays those data items in the common workspace based on the touchscreen gestures. The touchscreen may be embedded in a table top to form a touchscreen table. The personal user interfaces 140 may include a menu interface allowing access to applications or data items. Remote users may access the communication session via a mobile device external to the multi-touch platform. |
