<p>1500113 Vacuum brake boosters; valves ALFRED TEVES 26 Feb 1975 [26 Feb 1974] 8062/75 Headings F2F and F2V A valve assembly for a brake booster comprises a resiliently urged closing member 9, a valve body 7 movable by an actuating rod 5, and a displacement augmenting arrangement 10 provided to move the valve body 7 away from the closing member 9 at a greater rate than the rod 5 moves. The arrangement 10 comprises a cup spring 11 with radial fingers which each abut from the outside to the inside a shoulder 12 of the casing 1, a bead 15 of the closing member 9, an actuating sleeve 13, movable by a disc 14 on the rod 5, and the valve body 7. In the suspended vacuum booster shown two chambers are connected by passages 2, 3 aud the closing member 9 is engageable with a seat 4 on the casing and a seat 8 on the valve body On moving the actuating rod 5, the closing member 9 first engages the seat 4 isolating the passages 2, 3 and then lifts from the seat 8 to connect the passage 2 through the valve body with the outside air.</p> |
