<p>The window locking system includes two bars which are fitted into a groove along an edge of the window frame, connected together by an U-shaped strip, and fitted with a cover plate. The cover plate (26) has two holes for riveting to the joggled end of one bar, and has internal teeth to engage teet along the edge of the other bar, permitting adjustment during assembly. This cover plate is made from flat strip from which a large number of plates are made. Firs the pairs of holes are punched in it, then slots are made between them. A connecting slot is the punched, making a dumbell shaped cut out between each pair.
