Conveyor belt slit detection equipment - has endless chain with spring loaded detectors running against belt underside

The equipment detects lengthwise slits in conveyor belts, and foreign bodies causing such slits, and has a stopping device. The belt (1) is enclosed at one or more points by an endless belt or chain, running at right angles to it. At intervals along the chain (3) are detectors (4a), spring-loaded against the underside of the belt. When these extend into a slit, or run over a foreign body extending through the conveyor belt, the latter is stopped. The chain can be arranged to emit the stop signal to the drive belt when stopped by a detector penetrating into a slot. The chain can be arranged to run in a slotted profiled ring (2) acting as a track.
